Millburn Institute of Talent (MIOT), a branch of Huaxia Chinese School, is a non-profit organization based in Millburn, New Jersey. MIOT teaches the Chinese language, promotes Chinese culture, and encourages cross-cultural exchanges within the local community. It was founded by a group of enthusiasts who treasure both Chinese tradition and history, care about the development of the next generation, understand community needs, and have a long history of serving the community.
MIOT makes every effort to improve the Chinese learning experience. We aim to embody the essence of Chinese culture in language learning to pass on the culture over generations; our teachers place an emphasis on guiding the learning through teaching the culture. To create a learning environment that is more interesting, exciting, and efficient, the school utilizes the internet and multimedia resources, incorporates and refines modern teaching techniques, and promotes communication with students and parents. We hope that our students will develop a lifelong interest in learning the Chinese language and culture, becoming self-motivated to continue the journey throughout their lives.
At MIOT, we have an outstanding team of faculty and staff. In addition to Chinese courses, we offer a CSL (Chinese as Second Language) course and a large selection of extracurricular courses, including art, music, dancing, sports, lego robotics, chess, coding, math, and Chinese martial arts classes. Our admin team, along with the PTA (Parent-Teacher Association), also organizes various social and cultural activities/events involving both students and parents. We welcome you to join us in our efforts to nurture the young to become rooted in both Eastern and Western principles and to pass down Chinese culture.
MIOT accepts students from grades K-9. The school year runs from September through June. School opens every Sunday from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM, except on holidays.
