CSL (Chinese as Second Language) Courses

CSL Beginner Level
aims to have native English-speaker students learn Chinese in a natural environment, helps foster the interest in learning Chinese language and develop verbal Chinese communication skills. The course also includes Pinyin (phonetic) learning, which lays a solid foundation for the future study. The objective of this course is to allow students to learn daily greeting and basic communication skills through enjoyable activities and experiences.

CSL Intermediate Level
In this class, students will continue working on communication skills. At the same time, students will learn how to read, write, and use about 50 Chinese characters. Practicing listening and speaking continues to be a focus of the course.

CSL Advanced Level
Students will continue to practice reading, writing, and verbal communication skills. They will learn another 50+ new words in this course. Students will be exposed to more classroom instruction in Chinese to prepare them for the transition from CSL to Shuangshuang classes.
